Thoughts on the constellations (who are the masters of the earth)

 Reading various science books made me think a lot about bacteria.

In fact, the hypothesis is that bacteria, not humans, are the masters of the Earth.

It is said that one human cell is made up of about 60 trillion, but bacteria are said to have about 100 trillion.

There are about 8.1 billion humans living on Earth, and if all living things (animals and plants) are included, the number is so vast that it is impossible to even guess.

Inside every living thing, there are countless different bacteria living in symbiosis with living things, and there are bacteria that survive even in extreme situations.

They live in extremely high temperatures, extremely low temperatures, radiation, and places without sunlight or oxygen, and if the environment is too difficult to survive in, they go into a dormant period and pretend to be dead, and then come back to life when the environment improves.


Microorganisms living in the soil are small and very lazy. Even the most active ones only divide once a century. According to the Economist, "the secret to longevity seems to be doing nothing." When things get bad, bacteria shut everything down and wait for good times to return.

Bacteria cannot move as quickly as animals, so they live by reproducing, moving, and infecting living things.

However, they do not have a negative effect on living things, but rather provide benefits such as digestion and immunity, and are also used in fermented foods such as yogurt, kimchi, and beer that we eat.

Just as some bacteria have a good effect on humans, but some have a bad effect, when pathogens enter the host, the host reacts in various ways to kill the bacteria. If they don't win there, they will cause coughing, high fever, diarrhea, etc., which will help the pathogens multiply and allow them to move to other hosts.

There is also a story that the food we want to eat is actually for the bacteria in our bodies to obtain the nutrients they want.

Mitochondria, which exist in cells, are bacteria that provide energy to living organisms, and they are said to have maintained a symbiotic relationship since they fused into cells a long time ago.

An allergic reaction is a reaction in which the body rejects certain foods or substances (such as mites, pollen, hair, etc.), and I personally think that this reaction is also because the bacteria in our body hate these substances.

Then, I think that if we change the bacterial composition of our body, we will be able to treat allergies.

The majority of bacteria have not yet been discovered by humans, and it is an unknown area.

In the end, I think that we are living organisms that provide a habitat for bacteria, and I think that if we learn more about bacteria, we will be able to make more technological advancements.
