Why should we seek?

These days, my child is starting to talk and become curious about various things.

Why is this happening? Why did it become like that? What is this? Now that it makes sense, I am busy asking him questions that I have been curious about.

For things I know, I try to answer in a way that he can understand, or if he doesn't know, I say, "I don't know either, so let's look it up together." and tell him what it is.

On the other hand, I also ask my child the reason for his actions.

Why did you do this? Why did you think that? etc., and he answers some questions, but he doesn't answer others because he still has difficulty expressing words or thoughts.

As we become adults, we seem to forget the concept of why.

Socrates can judge whether the other person truly knows well or is making a logical error by asking questions about the other person's answers.

For example,

Q: Why do I work?

A: To earn money.

Q: Why do you want to earn money?

A: To make my family happy. Q: What is happiness?

A: My happiness is to have time with my family.

Q: Then is that time money or time?

A: I think time is more important than money.

Q: Why do you think so?

A: Money is simply a medium and a material that helps happiness, but time with family cannot be exchanged for it.

Q: What does time with family mean?

A: It is time to laugh, chat, play, and travel with my wife and children.

Q: What do I need for that?

A: There are jobs that allow me to spend time with my family, preparation for the couple's retirement, and individual investments for my children.

Like this, you can keep searching for reasons and causes, and how to think, what I should do, and whether what I want is not simply emotional.

Simply put, the concept of morality varies depending on the individual's thoughts. If you think deeply about what morality is, you will have to keep asking yourself a lot of questions and finding reasons for why you think that way.

I think that is how you discover yourself.

By listing the things I have been thinking about, I can look a little deeper into what I have been thinking about and what kind of mindset I had.

I can't know everything just because I am an adult.

I realized a lot of things again while talking to my child, and I will continue to think about how I should live my life with more reflection and thought.
