Noise(Daniel Kahneman)

 1. Avoid judging based on mood.

Judges were more likely to grant parole in the morning or after a meal than right before a break. Judges were 16 times more likely to sentence someone when they were hungry.

The moment of judgment is determined by the judge's mood.

Based on the above quote, it is about American judges, but I think it is common to all humans.

When you are in a bad mood, you can only apply any judgment negatively, and when you are in a good mood, you can think positively.

For example, when you have a cold, you don't want to do anything because you are sick, and you want to finish your work quickly.

If you have several things going on, you have to force yourself to do them, and you are more likely to make mistakes when you do them.

You are also more likely to accept other people's requests that you have always received in a nervous or negative manner.

However, if you are healthy, you will be able to handle any task accurately and quickly within the judgment that you can think of.

Thinking about it this way, I think that you always need to be in a good state to make good choices and judgments.

There are books that say that your feelings should not become your attitude, but of course, this kind of behavior is very difficult.

Sometimes, after an argument, I often think back to why I was so angry at the time after I calmed down.

I think that it will vary depending on the continued negative reaction and the state at the time.

That is why you should make rational judgments in any situation, and although it is a part where you have to be like a robot, I think that you should do so in order to reduce mistakes, and if you can avoid it, you should first avoid judgment and think about it again when your mind is healthy or you feel better, and you can make a different judgment.

I think that people can act emotionally like this, but they also need to develop an attitude that allows them to make rational judgments.

2. Don't be hasty.

Where there is prediction, there is ignorance, and such ignorance exists more than you think.

The image of a person who behaved in a certain way or gave a bad first impression lasts quite a long time. So, I think that because of the continued confirmation bias, every single action of a person who has a bad image cannot help but be seen as bad.

Of course, they may really have a bad personality or act badly.

However, on the contrary, they may be a good person in reality even though their image is different.

There are people who always smile and have a good image in public activities, but in fact act badly behind their backs, and there are people who have a bad image from people around them but are actually good and domestic.

That is why I think we should always take a neutral position.

From what I have felt about people so far, everyone has strengths and weaknesses, so there are things to learn from people who act badly, and things to not learn from people who act goodly.

The image you think of and the image you see of yourself are bound to be different, and you cannot make everyone’s image good.

I hope you do not struggle too much with this difference or worry too deeply about it, wanting to always have a good image, or becoming depressed.

People are not perfect, others are not perfect, and there is no such thing as perfection in the world.

However, I hope that you will strive for a better life and find your own path through deep self-reflection while thinking about the direction of your life.
